 Fatal Long Beach Motorcycle Accident Willow Street and Palo Verde Avenue

Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at Long Beach Intersection

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2023) – A fatal Long Beach motorcycle accident happened Saturday at Willow Street and Palo Verde Avenue.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at around 5:35 p.m. on Oct. 14th between a man riding a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2019 Nissan Sentra, police said.

The Long Beach Police Department responded and located the a man from the bike suffering from serious injuries, according to KTLA 5 News.

Paramedics with the Long Beach Fire Department were also on the scene and transported the injured man to a hospital, but unfortunately he later died from his injuries, police said.

Driver Turns in Front of Motorcyclist

Police investigating the crash stated the Harley Davidson bike was heading westbound on Willow Street at Palo Verde Avenue. That’s when the driver of the Nissan Sentra traveling east on Willow Street allegedly failed to yield to motorcyclist who had the right-of-way. The car turned left onto Palo Verde in front of the motorcyclist and the two vehicles collided.

The 63-year-old Long Beach resident driving the Nissan stopped and cooperated with the investigation.

The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner will release the victim’s name after his family members are notified.

Investigators are working to determine if speed and distracted driving are factors that contributed to the motorcycle accident on Willow Street.
