Hugo Gonzalez Martinez Fatal Long Beach Motorcycle Crash 91 Freeway
LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 4, 2021) — A fatal Long Beach motorcycle crash happened Friday morning on the 91 Freeway.
The collision between the motorcycle rider and a semi-truck happened about 9:09 a.m. on June 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police stated the motorcyclist went down in the No. 3 lane and was not responsive. The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene, just east of the 710 Freeway. A SigAlert was issued due to multiple southbound lanes being blocked due to the hard closure.
Additionally, the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner responded and pronounced the rider dead on scene. The victim is a Hispanic man in his 20s about 5 foot 6 inches tall. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner released the man’s name as Hugo Martinez, 25, on its website.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating what led up to the fatal Long Beach motorcycle crash.
