Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle, Killed in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 9, 2022) – A fatal Long Beach pedestrian accident happened Sunday night on Atlantic Avenue near 19th Street in Long Beach.
A driver in a 2014 Honda struck a 36-year-old Long Beach man about 9:15 p.m. on May 8th, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The motorist was heading northbound on Atlantic Avenue when she struck the man crossing westbound in traffic lanes and outside of a marked crosswalk.
The Long Beach woman driving the Honda stopped following the crash.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to a hospital where he later died of his injuries. His name is being withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
