
Man Killed in Crash on Pacific Avenue
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2023) — A fatal Long Beach pedestrian accident happened Thursday night at Pacific Avenue and 23rd Street in the South Wrigley area in Long Beach.
The deadly crash occurred around 10:39 p.m. on Sept. 7th, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
A driver in a 2016 Dodge Charger struck the victim while traveling southbound along Pacific Avenue, MyNewsLA reported. Authorities say the pedestrian was crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. The motorist told police they were unable to avoid hitting the man.
Paramedics responded to the scene and provided medical aid to the injured man, but sadly he died at the scene. His name and age were not released, pending notification of his family.
The driver of the Dodge stopped and cooperated with the investigation, the LBPD said.
