Woman Killed, 2 Injured in PCH Crash in Malibu
MALIBU, Calif. (March 15, 2024) – One woman died and two other people were injured in a fatal crash on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and Mulholland Drive in Malibu.
The deadly crash occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14th, near Leo Carrillo State Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded to the 3600 block of West Pacific Coast Highway and Mulholland Drive, the report said.
A woman driving a small car reportedly crashed her vehicle off Pacific Coast Highway into the beach parking lot. At some point, she also collided with a parked car occupied by two people.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KTLA 5 News.
Paramedics responded and transported two people to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Finally, investigators are working to determine what factors contributed to the fatal Malibu crash on PCH.
Officials report there have been 59 deaths between 2010 and 2024 along Pacific Coast Highway within the city of Malibu and that speed is the most common contributing factor.
