Motorcyclist Crashes On PCH in Malibu
MALIBU, Calif. (July 11, 2023) — A fatal motorcycle accident on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu happened Tuesday afternoon near Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
UPDATE: Joseph Thompson, 23, was identified by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner as the motorcycle rider killed in the July 11th crash in Malibu.
The collision occurred around 12:50 p.m. on July 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the motorcyclist went off the roadway roughly 100 feet and roughly 30 feet down the cliff. The circumstances leading up to the crash are unknown at this time.
Police and paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, but sadly the person died at the scene.
The case remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol to determine fault for the crash.
