Woman Struck by Jeep in Crosswalk on Mira Mesa Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2021) – A fatal Mira Mesa Boulevard pedestrian accident happened Tuesday afternoon in San Diego.
A driver in a Jeep struck the woman in a crosswalk as she attempted to cross Mira Mesa Boulevard, according to ABC 10 News San Diego.
The 50-year-old woman suffered major injuries in the collision and died at the hospital, San Diego Police said.
Driver Hits Woman in Mira Mesa Crosswalk
Police say the woman entered the crosswalk about 3 p.m. at Aderman Avenue and Mira Mesa Boulevard.
A 45-year-old man driving a Jeep Wrangler was turning onto the street and struck the pedestrian in the Mira Mesa neighborhood.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to a hospital. She suffered a possible brain bleed and internal bleeding, police said. Doctors sau she died at the hospital during or after surgery.
Investigators do not suspect drugs and or alcohol were factors in the collision.
Also, there is no further information about the case other than the San Diego Police Department is investigating.
