One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Freeway Crash in Mission Viejo
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (May 18, 2022) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash happened Wednesday night on the southbound San Diego (5) Freeway in Mission Viejo.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound lanes of the freeway crash around 10:52 p.m. on May 18th at Crown Valley Parkway.
They located multiple overturned vehicles including a white SUV and a red Ford sedan, the CHP said. At least one person died in the crash and there were an unknown number of injuries. Paramedics responded, but the report did not mention if anyone was hospitalized.
Due to the collision, authorities closed down multiple traffic lanes on the southbound side of the San Diego Freeway.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
