OC Sheriff’s Request Public’s Help with Fatal Crash Investigation
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2024) — A 26-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Jan. 5th at a Mission Viejo intersection and now the Orange County Sheriff’s Department hoping the public can help them with the investigation.
The deadly crash occurred at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5th at Alicia Parkway and Jeronimo Road, according to the OC sheriff’s department.
The traffic collision involved two vehicles and the young woman was reportedly standing near one of the vehicles when the crash occurred, police said.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded and the woman was pronounced dead on scene.
Meanwhile, the two drivers stopped and cooperated with deputies as they investigated the traffic collision. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are heading up the case and there were no arrests made, however, it remains an open case.
