Man, 20, Killed in Rollover Crash on ATV
MODESTO, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2023) — A 20-year-old man died in a rollover crash while riding in an ATV crash at Chicago Avenue, just west of Carpenter Road near Modesto.
The California Highway Patrol reported the ATV accident on Saturday at around 3:50 p.m. on Sept. 30th.
A 15-year-old was driving the ATV with three passengers including the 20-year-old Modesto man and two other ages 19 and 21 years old, ABC 10 News reports.
The teen driver attempted to make a U-turn, but the vehicle overturned. The 20-year-old passenger suffered major injuries and died following the collision.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old and 21-year-old passengers sustained minor injuries.
The four young people riding in the ATV are all from Modesto.
Authorities are investigating the crash, but they do not suspect drugs and alcohol were factors in the crash, according to CHP.
The case remains under investigation.
