One Dead, One Hospitalized in Montebello Crash
MONTEBELLO, Calif. (August 12, 2024) – A fatal Montebello motorcycle crash happened Sunday night on the Pomona 60 Freeway, just west of Garfield Avenue.
A second person was hospitalized after the collision in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash occurred at 8:27 p.m. on Sunday, August 11th in the middle lanes of the 60 Freeway, police said.
A driver in a car and a motorcycle collided due to unknown circumstances and the rider went down in the middle of the freeway, the CHP said.
Sadly, one person died at the scene just before 9 p.m. and paramedics transported the other person to a hospital with a major injury.
Police issued a SigAlert at 8:54 p.m. and closed down all eastbound lanes of the Pomona Freeway.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal Montebello motorcycle crash on the Pomona Freeway.
