Fatal Motorcycle Accident Highway 1, Dimeo Lane in Santa Cruz County

Motorcyclist, 62, Killed in Crash on State Route 1

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2023) — A 62-year-old Los Gatos man riding a motorcycle died in an accident on Highway 1 at Dimeo Lane in Santa Cruz County.

The two-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes of State Route 1 at around 2:06 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Los Gatos man was riding a red 2008 Victory Vision and a white 2003 Toyota Tundra pickup truck were both southbound on Highway 1.

The truck reportedly “cut off the bike” as it entered the highway from Dimeo Lane, the CHP report said.

Paramedics responded and located the 62-year-old man suffering from major injuries. He was initially “semi-responsive” and speaking but unable to move. He later died at the scene of the crash, the CHP said.

Meanwhile, both the driver and passenger from the pickup truck were not hurt.

Tow trucks removed both vehicles for evidence. Additionally, the California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into what happened.

Finally, authorities stated that drugs and or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
