SONOMA COUNTY, Calif., (Oct. 9, 2026) — A fatal motorcycle accident involving a gray Mercedes-Benz sedan happened Thursday night at Mirabel Road and Davis Road in Forestville.
The fatal incident was reported on Oct. 8th at approximately 6:08 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Santa Rosa officials reported the Mercedes stopped at the stop sign at the intersection on Giusti Road before driving straight across Mirabel Road towards Davis Street. However, the car pulled directly into the path of the oncoming northbound motorcyclist on Mirabel Road. The rider had the right-of-way, but police believe the bike was traveling at a high rate of speed, police said. The motorcycle crashed into the front of the car and was thrown off the bike onto the roadway.
Emergency services, including Sonoma County fire and medical personnel, were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
The authorities declared the motorcyclist deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan remained at the location and cooperated with police.
As of 6:20 p.m., authorities implemented a hard closure at Spears Market to divert traffic away from the accident site, ensuring the safety of emergency responders and investigators.
The Santa Rosa CHP is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. They urge anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them at Santa Rosa CHP office at (707) 806-5600.
