Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Mexican Border
TECATE, Calif. (Nov. 27, 2023) — A fatal motorcycle versus car accident happened Sunday morning on Campo Road also known as State Route Highway 94, roughly a mile west of SR-188 in the Tecate area.
The deadly crash occurred on the eastbound SR-94 at around 10:32 p.m. on Nov. 26th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the two vehicles collided due to unknown circumstances at the 3-way intersection. It’s unknown what caused the collision, however, the speed limit in the area is 55 mph, there are double yellow lines and curves in the roadway.
Cal Fire San Diego responded to the scene to help the injured rider and police issued a SigAlert.
However, despite efforts to save the 29-year-old man riding the motorcycle, he died at the scene.
There were no other injuries reported at this time
The case remains under investigation to determine fault.
