James Unfreed, 18, Identified as Motorcyclist
PLEASANT HILL, Calif. (Oct. 30, 2024) — James Unfreed, 18, of Pleasant Hill, died last Wednesday when his motorcycle and car collided at Contra Costa Boulevard and Dexter Drive in Pleasant Hill.
The deadly crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Oct. 23rd, according to East Bay Times.
The motorcycle rider was traveling northbound on Contra Costa Boulevard and had the right-of-way when a southbound car turned left into his path at Dexter Drive.
The intersection does not have traffic lights or stop signs in either direction.
The driver from the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the injured teenager to John Muir Medical Center’s trauma unit in Walnut Creek. Unfortunately, James Unfreed died at the hospital.
The traffic accident remains under investigation. Witnesses should contact the police department at 925-288-4600.
