Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 15 Freeway Near Cleghorn Road
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (August 27, 2026) — A fatal motorcycle crash occurred early Thursday morning on the Interstate 15 Freeway South, north of Cleghorn Road in San Bernardino County.
The California Highway Patrol reported the incident near Stoddard Monument on August 27th at approximately 7:31 a.m. A motorcycle reportedly struck a roadside wall, commonly referred to as a “krail,” on the I-15 South. Initial reports indicated that the motorcycle was found without its rider, raising concern about the rider’s whereabouts.
Emergency Response and Victim Information
Emergency responders, including the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office and coroner, were notified and promptly arrived at the scene. The coroner’s office was informed at 7:43 a.m., confirming the presence of a deceased individual at the location. The identity of the victim, described as either a White or Hispanic male, has not yet been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The extent of the damage and the positioning of the motorcycle suggest that the individual may have been ejected from the vehicle, possibly going over the roadside barrier. A white Chevrolet work truck was also reported near the scene, though its involvement in the incident remains unclear.
