Archie Slaven III and Peter Mison were Identified as Motorcyclists Killed
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2025) — Archie Richard Slaven III, 71, and Peter John Mison, 68, both died in a head-on motorcycle crash Sunday on East Grade Road in the Palomar Mountain area of San Diego County.
The deadly crash occurred near mile marker 10.6 around 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 5th, just east of Crestline Road, according to the CHP and the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Peter Mison of Fallbrook was riding his Harley Davidson up the mountain on the eastbound side of the roadway when he veered into oncoming traffic. The motorcyclist collided with a westbound Yamaha bike heading downhill and ridden by Archie Slaven III of Escondido.
The violent crash left both men dead at the scene.
Police do not suspect alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash.
