Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Highway 1, Near Gorda
MONTEREY, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2022) — A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and motorhome happened Monday night on State Route 1 (Highway 1), just south of Gorda in Monterey County.
The two-vehicle crash occurred in the southbound lanes about 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 19th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported it was a head-on collision between the two motorists.
A rider on a KTM motorcross-style bike and a 24-foot rental-style motorhome were involved in the wreck.
Authorities towed the motorcycle for evidence, but not the motorhome.
Police investigating the fatal crash were on the scene for hours and closed down the highway to one-way traffic.
Witnesses are encouraged to contact the CHP.
