OXNARD, California (April 21, 2016) – A deadly collision took place between a motorcycle and a train on Las Posas Road Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch. (map)
The accident happened at around 6:01 p.m. when the driver of a 2015 Harley Davidson identified as Garrett Vongunten, 26, of Camarillo, was riding with a female passenger prior to being struck by a Metrolink train.
The impact of the collision ejected both Vongunten and his passenger identified as Nadya Unger, 23, also of Camarillo.
Per KVTA News, Unger who turned 23-year-old on April 19th, sadly suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vongunten was quickly transported to Ventura County Med Center, where he remains in serious condition. Police officials determined he was under the influence of drugs and will face charges.
