Deadly Crash Involving Semi-Truck on I-15 Freeway
MOUNTAIN PASS, Calif. (June 30, 2022) — A fatal Mountain Pass crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway happened Thursday morning near Bailey Road.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes about 10:34 a.m. on June 30th, just west of the Nevada border, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a white SUV collided with a pickup and a semi-truck. The SUV and pickup both reportedly caught on fire following the collision and the SUV wound up underneath the semi-truck.
The traffic accident happened in the middle lanes of the Barstow Freeway, police said.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded to the scene to help those involved. Sadly, at least one person died in the crash.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine liability.
