Fiery Car Crash at Garden Grove Intersection
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2022) — A deadly crash involving three motorists happened early Friday morning at Garden Grove Boulevard and Magnolia Street.
The crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. on Nov. 11th at the intersection, according to KTLA 5 News and Sgt. Royce Wimmer of the Garden Grove Police
Department.
A driver in a Tesla was allegedly speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs when the car crashed into two other vehicles. The impact was so violent that it caused an engine from one of the cars to fly out and land in the street.
Bystanders rushed to help those trapped in the wreckage and managed to put two people from the Tesla and another vehicle. Firefighters also worked to free those trapped and rescuers feared one of the burning cars would explode.
A female driver from one of the vehicles survived with leg injuries, a passenger from the Tesla died in the crash and the driver of the Tesla was critically injured, the report said. Additionally,
Finally, investigators with the Garden Grove Police Department are working on the case to determine fault. Police are considering DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges against the driver from the Tesla based on preliminary results of their investigation.
They closed down the intersection for several hours. The Garden Grove Police Department asked witnesses to the crash to call them at 714-741-5925.
