One Dead, Others Injured in Fiery Six-Vehicle Wreck on SR-12
SANTA ROSA, Calif. (August 29, 2024) — A fiery, multi-vehicle fatal crash happened Thursday morning on Highway 12 at Fulton Road in Santa Rosa.
The collision occurred on westbound SR-12 at 11:52 a.m. on August 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol. It happened between Fulton and Stony Point roads, police said.
Six vehicles were involved and several caught on fire including a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that became fully engulfed in flames, the CHP said.
Among the motorists involved were the drivers of a Honda CR-V and a Mercedes-Benz SUV. These two vehicles had their tires knocked off during the crash.
Other vehicles involved included a Mazda hatchback and a large dump truck which were among those towed.
The Santa Rosa Fire Department responded and classified the collision as a mass casualty incident.
One person was confirmed dead at the scene and others suffered various injuries, but there are no further details at this time.
Investigators are working on the case to determine liability for the fatal crash on Highway 12 in Santa Rosa.
