One Dead, Several Injured in 4-Vehicle Collision
CORONA, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2024) — One person died and others were injured in Corona late Thursday in a crash on the eastbound Riverside 91 Freeway, just west of Pierce Street.
The deadly crash occurred at 11:50 p.m. on Sept. 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a blue vehicle and a U-Haul truck were stuck together following the collision.
The vehicles involved included a white Toyota Corolla, a tan Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe SUV, and a second Toyota Camry or similar vehicle.

CHP dispatchers were notified by an automated iPhone call and spoke to a woman in one of the cars who told them the vehicle was totaled. The woman was in pain and became unresponsive during the call and then told authorities she was trapped by her seatbelt.
The report also stated a mother with three children was trapped in her Suburban SUV.
The Riverside Fire Department responded to rescue the injured from the vehicles and unfortunately at least one person died on scene. It’s unknown how many were hospitalized at this time.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 91 Freeway in Corona.
