One Killed in Palmdale Car Accident at 47th and Avenue R-8

PALMDALE, Calif. (Dec. 23, 2025)  — A man was killed late Monday night after allegedly running a red light at high speed and triggering a multi-vehicle crash on 47th Street East in Palmdale, authorities said.

The collision occurred around 9:17 p.m. at 47th Street East and Avenue R-8, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale Station.

Investigators said the man was driving a silver 2007 Cadillac Escalade southbound on 47th Street East when he allegedly failed to stop at a red signal and struck a silver 2018 Honda HR-V that was turning left onto Avenue R-8 from the northbound lanes.

Following the initial impact, the Escalade reportedly went out of control and became airborne before striking a green 2002 Cadillac Escalade traveling northbound in the No. 2 lane. The SUV then continued southbound and collided with a gray 2019 Honda CR-V, also traveling northbound in the same lane, officials said.

The driver of the Escalade was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No additional details on the condition of the other drivers were released.
