Fatal Murrieta Crash I-215 Freeway and Clinton Keith Road

MURRIETA, CA (June 5, 2025) — A 22-year-old Temecula man died in an early morning crash Thursday on the southbound I-215 freeway near the Clinton Keith off ramp in Murrieta.
Fiery Collision on Interstate 215 Freeway
The fiery, multi-vehicle crash occurred just before 3:30 a.m. on June 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 22-year-old man was driving a white 2007 Chevrolet Malibu sedan at high speed when he lost control, struck the center divider, and became disabled. A passenger in the Malibu exited the vehicle and stood near the center divider and the driver called for help.
Meanwhile, a 61-year-old Moreno Valley man driving a Ford F-350 transit van was heading south on the I-215 and rear-ended the stalled Malibu. The van reportedly spun out into the middle of the freeway and the Malibu burst into flames.
One Dead, One Injured in Freeway Collision in Murrieta
Murrieta Fire and Rescue responded and put out the fire, but they were unable to save the Temecula man who died on scene. The passenger from the Malibu was unharmed, however, the driver in the van was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment of minor injuries.
