Multi-Vehicle Collision on the I-5 Freeway
NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2023) — A fatal National City crash happened Thursday morning on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of State Route 54 in San Diego County.
The four-vehicle collision occurred at around 2:36 a.m. on Oct. 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a silver Jeep and three other motorists were involved.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision at this time, but at least one driver is suspected of being under the influence of drugs and or alcohol.
Tow trucks removed four of the vehicles from the scene for evidence.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal National City crash on the 5 Freeway.
