Pickup Truck, SUV Crash on I-15 Freeway Near Halloran Springs
NIPTON, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2020) — At least one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on the Interstate 15 Freeway in Nipton.
The collision was reported at 6:44 a.m. on Dec. 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A pickup truck hauling a trailer wound up in a ditch after colliding with a green Ford Freestyle SUV, police said. The SUV was also off the roadway after the crash.
Meanwhile, one person died in the crash and one person was badly injured. A helicopter was landed on the southbound lanes of the roadway to airlift the injured to a hospital.
Additionally, the coroner was sent to the scene to handle the person who died.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the Nipton crash, just east of Halloran Springs.
Investigators are seeking to determine what caused the crash and liability.
