Mother of Infant Dies at Hospital; Infant, 2 Adults Injured
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Feb. 27, 2023) – A fatal North Hollywood crash at the Magnolia Boulevard off ramp from the Hollywood 170 Freeway happened Sunday night.
The two-vehicle North Hollywood crash happened about 7:04 p.m. on Feb. 26th when a driver ran a red light at Magnolia Boulevard as it was exiting the freeway and crashed into an eastbound vehicle.
The two vehicles were a black Honda CRV and a silver Toyota Camry, police said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and located a 40-year-old man and his 35-year-old female front seat passenger trapped in the wreckage. Both were transported to a trauma center and listed in critical condition. Also, the couple’s 10-month old infant was transported to Children’s Hospital in unknown condition. Sadly, the woman later died at the hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Meanwhile, a woman from the other vehicle also suffered injuries. She was transported to a hospital in fair condition, officials said.
Finally, police issued a citation to the driver of the vehicle that ran the red light and allegedly caused the fatal crash on Magnolia Boulevard. The motorist stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
