OAKLAND, Calif. (Jan. 30, 2023) — A fatal Oakland crash on the Interstate 580 Freeway happened Monday morning at the Harrison Street off ramp.
The collision occurred about 6:37 a.m. on Jan. 30th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Someone called 911 to report a vehicle on the Harrison off ramp from the westbound I-580 Freeway and it went up the embankment, the CHP report said.
The Oakland Police Department and paramedics responded to the scene and located at least one person deceased in the vehicle. It’s unknown if there were multiple vehicles involved or if this is a solo crash.
The identity of the victim or victims is unknown at this time, but will be released after relatives are notified.
The Oakland crash on the 580 Freeway remains under investigation.
