
OAKLAND, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2023) — A multi-vehicle Oakland crash happened early Wednesday morning on the Interstate 580 Freeway at the transition to the I-80 Freeway.
The collision occurred about 4:35 a.m. on Feb. 22nd in the westbound lanes of the I-580 at the transition to the Interstate 80, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a white Ford Mustang and a white pickup truck were among as many as five involved in the crash. The Mustang overturned onto its roof in the No. 1 lane during the wreck.
The Oakland Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene to help those injured, but sadly at least one person died on scene.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Oakland crash.
