Fatal Oakland Crash Interstate 580 Freeway, MacArthur Boulevard
2-Vehicle Collision at 580 and 80 Freeways
OAKLAND, Calif. (Feb. 2, 2024) — At least one person died in an Oakland crash Thursday night on the eastbound Interstate 580 Freeway at the West MacArthur Boulevard and San Pablo off ramps.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 8:12 p.m. on Feb. 1st, near the freeway maze, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a gray 2018 Hyundai Elantra and a Porsche SUV were involved. The Richmond Police Department responded and closed down the eastbound lanes of the I-580 and the MacArthur Blvd. off ramp.
The Alameda County Coroner responded to the scene, but have not released the victim’s name, age or gender at this time.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the Oakland crash on the 580 Freeway.
