Stephanie Zamora, 20, Injured in Crash with Wrong-Way Driver
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2024) — A wrong-way driver died and Stephanie Zamora was injured in a two-vehicle Oceanside crash on State Route 76, just west of Melrose Drive.
The deadly, head-on crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26th, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The man was driving a tan Buick Century sedan in the wrong direction when he collided with an oncoming white Honda Clarity, the report said.
Paramedics responded and located the man suffering from major injuries, but he died at the scene shortly after the collision. Authorities have not released the man’s name.
Meanwhile, Stephanie Zamora, 20, of Oceanside, who was driving the Honda, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Palomar Hospital in Escondido.
Police suspect that alcohol and/or drugs were factors in the crash.
