Fatal Oildale Motorcycle Accident Merle Haggard Drive, McCray Street
Motorcyclist Killed in Car Crash in Oildale
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2024) — A fatal motorcycle versus car accident happened in Oildale on Thursday night at Merle Haggard Drive and McCray Street.
The deadly crash occurred at 8:21 p.m. on Jan. 4th, according to KGET and the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials were told the motorcyclist allegedly drove through a red traffic light and T-boned another motorist who subsequently crashed into a pole. The motorcyclist was thrown off the bike and landed in the roadway.
Paramedics responded to the scene, but the motorcyclist died following the crash.
Meanwhile, the driver from the car was treated for moderate to major injuries after the collision.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the fatal Oildale motorcycle accident.
The Kern County Sheriff Coroner has not yet released the motorcycle rider’s name.
