Man Riding E-Bike Struck and Killed at Orangevale Intersection
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2024) — A man riding an electric bicycle was hit by a pickup truck while riding on Beach Avenue at Elm Avenue in Orangevale.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver in an eastbound Chevrolet pickup truck traveling on Elm Avenue struck the southbound bicyclist at the intersection on Thursday night Sept. 19th.
Paramedics responded, but the bicyclist died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup stopped and was questioned by authorities.
Police do not suspect alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The case remains under investigation to determine fault.
