Fatal Oroville Head-on Crash Highway 99, Hamilton Road (Jan. 5)1 Killed, 2 Injured in Head-on Car Crash on State Route 99 at E. Hamilton Road in Oroville

OROVILLE, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2018) –  A 28-year-old Oroville man died early this morning in a head-on crash on Highway 99 at E. Hamilton Road, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The traffic accident was reported about 6:07 a.m. between a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup and a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicles were blocking the southbound lanes, but debris was strewn across the northbound lanes. Caltrans closed down the roadway in both directions at Hamilton due to both lanes being blocked.

Paramedics were called to assist those who were injured. The survivors of the crash were identified as 36-year-old  Ryan Woodson, who was driving the Suburban, and 38-year-old Guillermo Hernandez, who was driving the Ranger.

Both vehicles required tow trucks to remove them from the scene.

Accident Investigation

Most collisions involving a head-on crash occur because one driver crossed over the center divide into the path of the other driver. It’s up to investigators to piece together evidence at the scene to determine which driver was at fault. In some cases, there may be criminal charges filed against a driver who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding or violating traffic laws.

At the conclusion of the investigation, anyone who has suffered an injury or the family of a loved one may pursue a claim seeking compensation for current and future medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering and more.

Every personal injury case is unique and many factors are used to value each case. The losses from your claim include the amount of the medical bills, lost wages, pain, and suffering, etc. The most important factor is your life change resulting from the injury. Typically, the larger the injury and life change, the larger the settlement. We discuss your personal injury claim’s worth during your free consultation. The first thing you should do is contact an attorney. Without the representation of a lawyer, insurance companies might make contact with you directly, and since they are trained to protect their best interests, this could mean a loss of rights on your behalf, especially if you unknowingly sign something that they didn't completely explain to you. The length of a personal injury case depends on many factors including the evaluation and treatment of the injury. The bigger the injury, the longer it takes to treat. Johnson Attorneys Group assists you in finding the best doctors to help. Most of them even wait until a settlement for payment. Call for a free consultation 800-208-3538, or complete the form below >
Handling a personal injury claim by yourself is very difficult. You will deal directly with the insurance adjuster who is often trained to obtain the information they are not entitled to use. This information can negatively impact and de-value your case. Once your case is damaged, it is very difficult to repair it and usually costs you thousands of dollars less in a settlement.
