Deadly Crash on State Route 70 in Oroville
OROVILLE, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2022) — A fatal Oroville pedestrian accident happened Friday morning on southbound State Route Highway 70.
The deadly collision happened about 6:50 p.m. on Jan. 27th in front of the minimart near Palermo Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP report said a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck struck a man who was attempting to round up his dogs in the roadway. A witness told authorities they saw the truck swerve around something in the roadway before it crashed. The report also stated a large piece of equipment blocked the roadway.
Meanwhile, the paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash. The man suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
Police requested a tow truck to remove the pickup truck from the crash scene for evidence. All roads reopened by 10:20 p.m. last night.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the fatal Oroville crash.
