2-Vehicle Crash at Otay Mesa Intersection
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 31, 2023) — A fatal motorcycle accident happened Thursday night at Palm Avenue and Hawaii Avenue in Otay Mesa.
The deadly crash occurred around 6:55 p.m. on March 30th, according the San Diego Union Tribune.
A man riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle was eastbound on Palm Avenue.
Meanwhile, an 89-year-old woman driving a Toyota Corrola traveling westbound on Palm Avenue made a left-hand turn onto Hawaii Avenue.
The motorcycle rider collided broadside into the Toyota, San Diego police said.
Authorities investigating the collision noted that the motorcyclist allegedly failed to stop for a red light and the Toyota had the green light.
Sadly, the unidentified motorcycle rider died at the scene of the Otay Mesa crash.
Liability for the collision will be determined by San Diego police investigators.
