Deadly Crash in Oxnard on the 101 Freeway
OXNARD, Calif. (April 22, 2022) — A solo-vehicle crash on the northbound Ventura (101) Freeway happened Friday morning near South Rose Avenue in Ventura County.
The collision occurred about 4:47 a.m. on April 22nd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP dispatch operators reported a silver Toyota Avalon struck debris in the roadway and crashed. The vehicle suffered major front-end damage in the collision. The Ventura County Fire Department responded to help those hurt in the crash.
Unfortunately, at least one person in the vehicle suffered major injuries and died at the scene. It’s unknown at this time how many were in the Toyota Avalon at the time of the crash.
Additionally, investigators are working on the cause of the Oxnard crash on the 101 Freeway and will determine fault.
