One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 105 Freeway in Paramount

PARAMOUNT, Calif. (Jan. 17, 2022) — A fatal Paramount crash happened early Monday on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway near Garfield Avenue.
One person died in the fiery multiple-vehicle crash and part of the freeway closed down after the Paramount collision.
The traffic accident happened about 3:20 a.m. on the eastbound Glenn Anderson Freeway, just east of Garfield Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses told authorities a Toyota Prius was in the HOV lane and fully engulfed in flames. The driver was still inside the vehicle, the report said.
Police confirmed that one person died at the scene at 3:35 a.m.
While the incident was initially reported as a three-vehicle crash, there were also other vehicles stopped on the right shoulder
Police issued a SigAlert at 3:50 a.m. and closed down all eastbound lanes of the Glenn Anderson Freeway, just west of the Long Beach (710) Freeway.
CHP officers diverted traffic off the freeway at Garfield Avenue.
CHP officials report the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes reopened about 5 a.m.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the fatal Paramount crash.
