Deadly Crash in Downtown
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 11, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Tuesday morning on the Hollywood 101 Freeway near North Los Angeles Street in downtown Los Angeles.
The collision occurred around 5 a.m. on July 11th, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
Several southbound lanes were closed following the deadly collision, according to KTLA 5 News.
It’s unknown why the pedestrian was on the freeway at this time. Police closed down three traffic lanes due to the crash and subsequent investigation.
Authorities issued a SigAlert due to the traffic lane closures.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner will identify the pedestrian after relatives are notified.
