Fatal Pedestrian Accident Arlington Avenue, Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles
One Killed, One Injured in Arlington Heights Hit-and-run Crash
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2023) – A fatal pedestrian accident happened Tuesday night on South Arlington Avenue between Pico and Venice boulevards in Los Angeles.
Two drivers struck a woman and a man who were attempting to cross a street outside a crosswalk in the Arlington Heights area of South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. One of the motorists stopped and cooperated with authorities, but the second fled the scene.
It happened at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14th in the 1500 block of South Arlington Avenue, MyNewsLA reports.
First a driver in a sedan was traveling southbound on Arlington Avenue and hit the woman and then struck the man in the roadway, the LAPD said.
Upon impact, the woman fell into the path of a second vehicle traveling in the same direction as the first vehicle.
Authorities investigating the crash determined that the two pedestrians were walking outside of the crosswalk at the time of the collision.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The LAFD also transported the man to a hospital.
The case remains under investigation.
