Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Mission Street (Highway 1) in Santa Cruz
Man, 22, Struck and Killed by Suspected DUI Driver
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (July 3, 2024) — A 22-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident early Wednesday morning involving a DUI suspect in Santa Cruz at Mission Street or Highway 1.
The collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. on July 3rd, at Laurel Street, according to KSBW News.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision Santa Cruz police are currently investigating a deadly crash that took place Wednesday morning.
The young man suffered major injuries and was transported by ambulance to a trauma center in San Jose, but he later died at the hospital, police said.
The Santa Cruz pedestrian accident occurred at Laurel and Mission streets and was closed due to the police investigation.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office will release the victim’s name after his relative are notified.
