
Man, 60, Killed in Sacramento Car Accident
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 8, 2023) — A 60-year-old man was struck and killed Monday afternoon in a pedestrian accident on Auburn Boulevard in Sacramento.
The collision occurred around 12:08 p.m. on August 7th, just south of Myrtle Avenue, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The CHP reported a driver in a Freightliner semi-truck struck the victim as he was walking westbound outside of a marked crosswalk on Auburn Boulevard, ABC 10 News reports.
The 51-year-old Sacramento man driving the truck was reportedly turning right onto Auburn Boulevard when he struck the pedestrian.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to Mercy San Juan Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The man’s name will be released by the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner after relatives are notified.
The cause of the pedestrian accident on Auburn Boulevard remains under investigation.
