Pedestrian Struck, Killed at West Modesto Intersection
MODESTO, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2022) — A fatal Modesto pedestrian accident happened Monday morning at South Carpenter and Paradise roads.
The collision occurred about 4:08 a.m. on Nov. 7th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
It’s unknown what led up to the deadly crash at this time, but the CHP report stated a truck hit the pedestrian. Paramedics responded and located the person down in the roadway, but they were unable to save the victim.
Meanwhile, the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department closed down the roadway at Beverly Drive and Paradise Road where it crosses Carpenter. The coroner responded to the scene, but has not released the victim’s name, age or gender at this time.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault. The Modesto intersection is marked by crosswalks in all directions and controlled by traffic lights. It’s unknown exactly where the truck hit the pedestrian at this time.
The roadway reopened to traffic at 5:27 a.m.
