
Man, 72, Struck and Killed Crossing Clairemont Drive
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2024) — A 72-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident when a car hit him in a crosswalk on Clairemont Drive in the Bay Park area of San Diego.
The man was walking in an eastbound direction on Dakota Drive as he crossed Clairemont Drive when a vehicle hit him about 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
Paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed the man’s death.
The 76-year-old woman driving the vehicle told police she had the green light and the pedestrian stepped into her path, but the case remains under investigation.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner has not released the victim’s name.
Police do not suspect the driver was impaired at the time of the fatal pedestrian accident on Clairemont Drive.
