Fatal Pedestrian Accident Florin Road and Florin Perkins Road

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, Calif., (May 22, 2026) — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Monday morning at the intersection of Florin Road and Florin Perkins Road in South Sacramento.

The tragic incident occurred on May 22nd at approximately 2:35 a.m. when a gray Honda CR-V reportedly collided with a pedestrian in the eastbound lanes, just west of the intersection. According to the California Highway Patrol’s incident report, the pedestrian was in the roadway at the time of the collision. Emergency response units arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the pedestrian, pending notification of next of kin. Emergency personnel responded promptly, but sadly, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Honda CR-V told police he did not see the person in the roadway. The motorist stopped and cooperated with law enforcement officials. The accident led to the temporary closure of lanes as the scene was investigated and cleared.

The California Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. They urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has additional information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
