Man Using Mobility Scooter Hit by Car on Fruitdale Avenue
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2023) — A man riding a mobility scooter died Friday in a San Jose pedestrian accident at Fruitdale Avenue and Princess Anne Drive in San Jose.
The fatal crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 22nd at the San Jose intersection, according to a report by CBS News.
A driver in a 2017 Nissan sedan was traveling eastbound on Fruitdale Avenue, just west of Princess Anne Drive in the city’s Rose Glen neighborhood. Meanwhile, a man riding on a mobility scooter was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk.
The driver struck the victim and he suffered major injuries. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital, but sadly he died from his injuries.
Finally, the driver of the Nissan stopped and cooperated with the police investigation into the fatal accident on Fruitdale Avenue.
