Deadly Crash on Green Valley Road in the Watsonville Area

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (Nov. 19, 2024) — A fatal pedestrian accident in Watsonville happened Tuesday morning on Green Valley Road at Amesti Road near Amesti Elementary School.

The collision occurred in traffic lanes around 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 19th, in Santa Cruz County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials responded to the crash scene where the driver of the vehicle had damage to the front right side of the car and windshield damage.

Investigators determined the 35-year-old Freedom man driving a gray 2006 Toyota Camry was headed southbound on Green Valley Road when he struck the 53-year-old Royal Oaks woman who was walking near the intersection.

Paramedics responded, but sadly the female pedestrian suffered fatal injuries on scene. The victim’s name was not released.

Meanwhile, a tow truck removed the vehicle for evidence.

Finally, investigators are working to determine liability for the Watsonville pedestrian accident on Green Valley Road.
