Man, 53, Struck and Killed on Highway 101 in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. (Nov. 20, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Sunday on Highway 101, just north of Seaward Avenue in Ventura.

An unidentified 53-year-old man who was wearing dark clothing and reportedly standing in the fast lane on the southbound Highway 101 died in the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on Nov. 20th, the CHP said.

The driver of a 2019 Ford Ranger was traveling southbound at around 65 to 70 mph when they struck the pedestrian who fell into the path of two other vehicles. He was struck by both vehicles and died at the scene, the report said.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Camarillo man driving the Ford stopped and cooperated with the investigation, the CHP said.
