Man Struck, Killed at Santa Barbara Off Ramp
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2023) — A fatal pedestrian accident happened Saturday night on Highway 101 at the Castillo Street off ramp in Santa Barbara.
The deadly crash occurred at around 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol and KSBY.
A driver in a 2015 Honda Accord reportedly struck the victim who was standing in the middle of the Castillo Street off ramp from the southbound Highway 101.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to a hospital, but he later died from his injuries, the report said.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old Santa Barbara man driving the Honda and his two passengers were unharmed in the crash.
Police do not suspect alcohol and or drugs were involved in the pedestrian accident on Castillo Street.
Liability for the fatality remains under investigation, the CHP said.
